Sisario takes over the airwaves

Ben "Petitioner" Sisario appeared on two radio shows today, on two continents!

He's featured in this radio documentary on "Gypsy Punk" band Gogol Bordello, and also this interview on WNYC discussing his recent article on Tom Waits's lawsuits to protect his musical identity.

Just when you thought it was over
after his Frito Lay lawsuit, Tom does it again.

Introducing Agent Omega

Wow--this is one for the books. Flash Clark's current project Agent Omega proves that the former Unwonted axe-master hasn't lost an ounce of his street shred. Negotiations for the re-issue of the original Unwonted demos are currently underway, so in the mean time enjoy these intricate explorations to the heart of Flash's soul.

Two New Acts in Rudyland Family.

Check out these two rising stars:

J Creed is known for his work as one half of Expressive Vehicles, a project that was born out of his Suite 16 Studios in Hollywood. Our album "We Express" will be available soon. Now back in DC--the K Street Project begins. "Named for the Republican conspiracy to create an exclusively conservative and politically loyal lobbying culture in Washington," K Street Project promises a new dawn of expression, and delivers.

Not too far up 95N, let me introduce the Occidental Tinkers. Features Marques Comar of Unwonted, Mu Fanchu, Red Stanleys fame and his sweetheart, Karen performing as Karques and Maren O'Tinker. Check out Gods of Rock N Roll, the first song from the forthcoming album "Occident Prone."

The Best of 2005: A Neverending Dilemma..

Every December I get asked about Ben Siario's best of list and I start to worry about my own. Have I purchased 10 albums that came out this calendar year? Have I HEARD 10 albums that came out this year? Will Ben get pissed if I put stuff on there that came out in 2004? 1987?

In case you haven't seen it already, here is Sisario's jaw droppingly comprehensive best of list. (And you wrote a book too?!?)

And here is MY LIST!

1. Watts Passage "The Return of the Hill People"
2. Mary Timony "Ex Hex"
3. Propagandhi "Potemkin City Limits"
4. Mike Jones "Who Is Mike Jones?"
5. High on Fire "Blessed Black Wings"
6. The Darkness "One Way Ticket to Hell and Back"
7. Dungen "Ta Det Lungt"
8. Sleater Kinney "The Woods"
9. The Game "The Documentary"
10. Queens of the Stone Age "Lullabies to Paralyze"

Man, I must be moving out of the record buying demographic. I don't have much faith in that list, and right now my favorite album is KIX "Blow My Fuse"

Best show of 2005: Sonata Arctica at JAXX!!!

Rudyland on BandtoBand.com

Heck yeah! We've made it onto my favorite rock n' roll genome site BandtoBand

It still takes 20 steps to link Goth Jones to the Melvins, so hopefully we can shorten that sometime this year with some new bands.

Thank you Mark Kennedy and keep on rockin' Misery's Tomb!!

Rudyland Reviews in HiBias

We got some cool reviews from Michael Toland at HiBias in Austin, Texas. Goth Jones Petitioners and Mazey.
